My name is Luke Harrison, I am a 20 years old. I currently work as a Flash Developer and Course Leader / Tutor. I maintain two different jobs as well as accepting freelance commissions. I am also a third year student at the London Metropolitan University studying Computer Visulisation and Games. I have an A grade average and hope to maintain this to graduate with first degree honours. Personal I have good time management skills, I can work well under pressure and will put a high ammount of dedication into a project until it is finished even if this means, and it usually does, putting in extra hours and working all night. I am responsible, I am good with public speaking and presentation, can answer phones if needed, used to be an admin assistant which involved a lot of phone work. I have good problem solving skills and can keep my cool when things go wrong. I am capable of teaching large and energetic groups of students, I have most experience in teaching 11 to 16 year olds. I make sure they all get their work for the day done and projects finished by the end of term. I am good at giving presentations and demonstrating software which is part of both my jobs, I usually present software to clients and bosses. I give tutorials on a projecter to classes of 15-20. Technical My strongest computing skill is programming using Adobe Flash and Action Script to produce Flash games and online content. I also have a good knowledge of Action Script 2 and GML, the programming language for Game Maker which I use to teach Game Design. I have quite a bit of experience with UCD and Interface design from working on a variety of BBC projects ensuring that the content was suitable for the intended audience. I have good time management skills and they have been put to the test with very tight deadlines for large ammounts of projects. I can work well under pressure and meet deadlines. I also have skills in, HTML, XML and PHP though my main skills are
with Adobe Flash and Action Script. Programmer My first job is at Gamelab London where I am a Flash Developer creating eductional software and games. While at Gamelab I have worked on two large scale BBC projects for BBC Jam service. I have also developed educational software for 2simple. Teacher My second job is teaching and running the Game Design course at the Roundhouse in Camden where I teach 11-16 year olds how to design and create games. I have also taught on a Flash Animation course at the Roundhouse. The students on the course start with little to no game desig skills or knowledge and finish the course with enough skills to make their own games. The course usually runs for 10 weeks with a 2 hour session every Saturday. There are also week long courses during the holidays and half term. Freelance I do most of my freelance commissions for Viridian Online, a web design company based in Brent Cross. I usually make Flash content for websites such as animations or slideshows but also do the occasional Flash Site or HTML page.
